Founder’s Story
D.S. & DURGA was founded in New York in 2008 by David Seth Moltz (D.S.) and Kavi Ahuja Moltz (Durga). What began as a DIY project in a Brooklyn apartment evolved into a distinctive world of fragrance, music, art, and American culture.
For D.S. & DURGA, perfume is more than just a scent: it is an art form on par with music, painting, and literature — a portal to real and imaginary places. A single spritz becomes a journey without ever leaving your spot.

The Founders
David, originally a musician and self-taught perfumer, composes fragrances like songs: individual notes come together to form harmonies that tell stories of distant places, landscapes, myths, and memories.
Kavi, a trained architect, translates these worlds into the brand’s visual identity and, with her keen sense of form, light, and texture, shapes the distinctive design of D.S. & DURGA.
The Story
To this day, the fragrances are created in New York City—formulated in Brooklyn and bottled in the Bronx. Each creation is accompanied by stories, playlists, photographs, and films, creating a world of its own.
